Meet Matt
Matt joined Bishop’s Community Development Trust in 2021 and brings a passion for grass-roots innovation.
“I’m passionate to see people across the church living out their faith through tangible expressions of social, economic or environmental initiatives that impact and transform our communities for the better.”
He has significant experience leading innovation and change within the community sector at a neighbourhood level and in roles with Wesley Community Action and the Salvation Army.
Matt says BCDT is uniquely placed to support a growing ecosystem of transformative work become a reality.
He is focused on equipping, supporting, and encouraging change-makers achieve the dreams they have for their community.
Matt and his wife Chrissie live in Cannons Creek, Porirua with their five children. Over many years they have engaged in expressions of missional community and community development including 15 years on the local school Board of Trustees. Their trampoline has also been an important neighbourhood resource for hundreds of local kids ….
For about half of every year, Matt and family are dreaming about their shared passion for summer camping, hoping for, but not always getting scorching summer weather!
